 Introduction

The Educator is a shared workspace developed to make it possible for students to cooperate and is used in a digital course on signalprocessing for second year physics students. It can for example be used to share a whiteboard with other students, to chat, to perform exercises that are designed as Java applets. These applets can be stored, changed, submitted to the teacher and easily exchanged between students.

The Educator is implemented  as an Java applet. The client-server tasks of the Educator are implemented using Corba (Visigenic Orb)

This document explains the possibilities of the Educator:

Survey gives an introduction to the user-interface of the Educator. (Buttons give a list of the buttons and their functions).

Applets makes clear how applets can be opened, changed, saved etc. Also the user-interface of the educator is shortly explained.

Zap service explains the possibilities of the Zap service. With this service students can easily exchange applets.

The Whiteboard service makes it possible to exchange drawings, formulas and text. How this can be done can be read in Whiteboard.

Other Services explains the ChatServer and the MathServer

The Educator can be reached by clicking the Educator button on http://fysmp/college/html/weektaken.htm. This is the button displayed here on the left.
