Bibliographical notes on the Oeuvres Complètes (1888-1950)

The monumental 22-volume edition of the letters, printed works and manuscripts of Christiaan Huygens was published between 1888 and 1950 by the Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen (the present-day Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen ["Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities"]) in Haarlem.

The chief editors of the volumes were D. Bierens de Haan (vols. I to V), J. Bosscha (vols. VI to X), D.J. Korteweg (vols. XI to XV) and J.A. Vollgraff (vols. XVI to XXII).

The Oeuvres Complètes was printed by the The Hague publisher Martinus Nijhoff at the presses of Joh. Enschedé & Zoon in Haarlem on special paper with a Huygens watermark and consists of the following volumes:
