I run two seminar series at the ITP, "Grafiti" and "Quist", with Igor Khavkine
co-organizing the latter.
Grafiti ("Gravity and Fields Tea") hosts a mixture
of internal and external speakers on a variety of topics relating to
research done in the Quantum Gravity, Strings and Elementary Particles
program. Every member of the program, including advanced PhD students,
is encouraged to talk at least once a
year about her or his research work. Grafiti takes place every Monday
at 2 pm in room MG 401. The preferred form of presentation is that of
a blackboard talk.
Quist ("Quantum Issues in Space-Time")
is more focussed on the subject of quantum gravity proper. Its format
is more flexible, and ranges from discussion meetings on a specific topic or article
to formal seminar talks. Quist's time slot is Thursdays at 3:30 pm and
the venue is room MG 401.
